Leisure Centre
The Shandon Hotel Leisure Centre is available to all residents free of charge.
The facilities include a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam-Room. Please phone extension 454 for more information
The leisure club also boasts a resort shop where we stock local suppliers of active wear swimwear and swim accessories and a range of drinks and snacks

To accommodate swimming lessons the leisure centre is closed. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Group Exercise:
We offer Yoga & Aqua Aerobics throughout the week, please ask reception team what classes are available during your stay. Residents are always welcome.
There is a surcharge for each class.
Pool Rules
- Over 18’s only after 7.00pm
- Children under 12 must always have an adult in the water with them.
- Health suite is strictly 18’s and over (Jacuzzi, Sauna & Steam Room)
Other Information
- Swim hats must be worn by all pool users.
- Swim hats can be purchased for €4 per person.
- Towels are provided by the leisure club for residents only.
- Swimsuits, shorts, and other accessories are available to purchase.
Shandon Gym
Residents have full use of our gym between 7am and 9pm daily. Please note the gym and studio is located beside the Tennis Court and we do not offer showering, changing facilities or lockers within that building. You are welcome to use the showering, changing facilities and lockers in the main Leisure Centre within the main hotel building, or your room facilities.
You must check into the gym and the main leisure centre reception and complete the necessary paperwork in relation to your health. The gym is not supervised.
Persons using the gym equipment are responsible for their own safety.
In the case of an emergency please push the emergency call button and our on duty first responder will arrive with defib and first aid box.
Please familiarise yourself with the escape route and location of emergency call button before using the gym.
Rooms Policy
Please check your room upon arrival to ensure that there is no damage to the fixtures or fittings and to ensure that the cleanliness is in line with our standards. All rooms have been checked by a house-keeping supervisor and the room was signed off as ‘ready’ meaning that there is no detected damage, and that the cleanliness meets our 4-star standard. It is important that you inform us straight away if you notice any discrepancies with your room. Complaints regarding any of the above will not be accepted on check out, you must inform us straight away. If damages are found to any fixtures or fittings after you depart, you will be liable for the cost to replace or repair.
If you have had any type of accident that resulted in damage or soilage, it is important to inform us straight away. If soilage was caused by accident, please tell us straight away so our team can address, and they arrive with the correct PPE. Informing us straight away of an accident will reduce the cost of damages because we would have more chance of reducing staining.
All Bedrooms are Non-Smoking, if you chose to ignore this policy and smoke in the bedroom you will be charged for the costs involved in deep cleaning the room and loss of revenue while the room is unable to be sold.
Costs will also apply should you cause damage to hotel property.
Bathrobes, Hairdryers etc are provided for your use while in the hotel. If you wish to take them home, they can be purchased from Reception. Please note there will be a charge made for items removed from the bedrooms without authorisation.
For the comfort of all our residents we would ask you to keep noise levels to a minimum after 9pm particularly when retiring late at night. Please consider the enjoyment of your neighbours, especially those with young children.
Check Out: All rooms must be vacated before 11am. Late departure can be arranged with reception. The cost of €15 per hour applies.

NON-SMOKING POLICY
The hotel operates a strict No-Smoking Policy in all of our bedrooms. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in a minimum fine of €150.00 with additional charges for lost revenue, as the room will not be able to be resold until deep cleaning has taken place. Should you choose to ignore this policy, your credit/debit card will be automatically charged accordingly without prior notice.
DAMAGE AND/OR THEFT OF HOTEL PROPERTY: You are liable for any damage caused (whether by the deliberate, negligence, or reckless act to the room (s), hotel’s premises or property caused by you or any person in your party whether or not staying at the hotel during your stay. The Shandon Hotel reserves the right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details as presented at registration and charge the credit /debit card in such amounts as it shall in its sole discretion deem necessary to compensate or make good the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by The Shandon Hotel as a result of the aforesaid. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or
damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialist to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.
DAMAGE DISCOVERED AFTER CHECK-OUT: Guest Rooms found with waste
scattered around, in complete disorder, and/or “trashed” will be subject to an initial €150.00 maintenance deep cleaning fee, administration fee and/or third-party fees. Extra fee’s may apply subject to damage caused.
DAMAGE TO ROOM: Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishing, and equipment including the removal of electronic equipment, towels, artwork, etc. will be charged at 100% of full and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges. Any damage to hotel property, whether accidental or wilful,
is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room. Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the credit card of the registered guest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued. Upon discovery after a guest has checked out and failed to report or attempt to explain the damage, an initial charge of €350.00 will be made to your card, once the exact cost of the damage is ascertained, receipts will be provided to you and if it amounts to less than the initial charge, you will be reimbursed, if it is more, you will be liable for the difference. If accidental damage occurs, it is very important to inform reception on departure. When you check in, it is expected that any damage is reported immediately, failure to do so will result in you being liable for the damage if you have failed to report it. All rooms go through a rigorous check by a supervisor and manager and each room will have a signed checklist to confirm that all items in room are working and in good state for use, if this is not the case, you must report straight away.
DAMAGE TO MATTRESSES AND BEDDING: Damage to mattresses and linen including towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, blankets resulting from the use of body oils, make-up, shoe-polish, etc. will result in an initial charge of €250 for the special cleaning, repair, or replacement of the damaged article. Extra charges may apply once the extent of the damage is ascertained.
DAMAGE OR TAMPERING WITH FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS/FIRE-FIGHTING EQUIPMENT: The Shandon Hotel reserve the right to take action against any guest or visitor found to have tampered or interfered with any detection equipment throughout the hotel, including detector heads in public areas, guest rooms, break glass points and fire extinguishers. Guests or visitors found to have tampered with any fire detection or fire-fighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and will be evicted from the hotel. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, law enforcement may become involved at the hotel’s discretion. Should the fact that fire-fighting or detection equipment had been tampered with come to
light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc.
Complaints Policy
Please be advised that our policy stipulates that you must highlight your concern immediately by advising your server or staff member responsible in their respective departments, otherwise it is extremely difficult for us to restore your faith immediately and fix any shortcoming on our behalf.
If you accept the room and what you are served and you fail to highlight a complaint at the time and go on to consume the product, we will not accept liability and it will be deemed that you have accepted the product as delivered.
We apologise in advance if our standard has been affected due to human error and we ask that you immediately inform us so we can ensure that you have a wonderful, relaxing, and comfortable experience with us.
Complaints made by email, following departure and without any reference to said shortcoming throughout your experience will be treated as constructive feedback only. We will of course apologise for any shortcomings and thank you for your feedback, however, no remedy or compensation will be offered at that stage.
Any attempt to blackmail the hotel with negative reviews online will result in immediate dismissal of allegation and no further engagement on the matter. Threats of defamation as a result of a failed blackmail threat could result in legal action.
Aggression, bad language and or threats will not be tolerated against any of our team.
We appreciate all feedback, and we want more than anything to know when you are not 100% satisfied at the time, so that we can turn things around and you leave us feeling heard and very happy with the outcome.
